For all the people who attended the Children Of Bodom gig not knowing too much about the band or having doubts about them , you would have been blown away by the performance that the Finnish 5 put on in the Transmission Room on Thursday Night.
Kicking the night off with a solid set from locals Subtract, NZ Metal Heavyweights Dawn Of Azazel hit the stage with some nasty feedback early on they pulled off a tightly sewn set which ended with Rigel making a boo boo about COB saying they were from Sweden which let off a few moans, groans and boos from those in attendance.
Then it was time for the Main event of the evening, Alexi and his crew pulled off an amazing set which had the whole place charging and screaming for more. They pulled out a range of hits spanning their career such as Sixpounder, Needled 24/7, Hatecrew Death roll, In your face and many many more and as well as hits from their latest album such as Blooddrunk and Banned From Heaven.
It was a near flawless show from the Children with them having a set spanning well over an hour with the only question i had unanswered was why didnt they play “Are you dead yet?”
Overall it was a night that is right up there with the best of gigs i have seen and if you didnt make it you certainly missed out.
